PARADIGMS – A Research Study for Children with Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Stuart SchlossmanMS Research Study and Reports, Pediatric MS

The PARADIGMS Study

PARADIGMS is a 24-month research study intended to see if an FDA-approved oral disease modifying treatment (DMT) for adult patients can help children with MS.

If your child has been diagnosed with MS and is 10 to 17 years old, they may be eligible to participate. There is no cost for participation in this study.

What is the PARADIGMS study?

This study is designed to last for 24 months. Qualified volunteers will be randomly assigned (like flipping a coin) into one of two study groups. One of the study groups will be an oral medication and the other study group will be an injectable medication. Both medications have been approved in many countries for use in adult patients (18 and older) for treating multiple sclerosis.

Why should my child participate?

During the 24-month study period, your child will have access to study medication and study related medical assessments at no cost. This study will also help the MS and medical providers gather valuable information about the effectiveness and tolerability of an oral medication in patients less than 18 years of age.

After participating in the 24-month research study, your child may be eligible to take part in an optional long-term extension study.
