Medicare open enrollment season is underway, so we wanted to pass along some information about the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan that may be useful for some individuals living with MS and their care partners.
The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan (M3P) is a new program created under the Inflation Reduction Act. The M3P requires Part D sponsors to provide enrollees with a monthly payment option for out-of-pocket prescriptions drug costs. Payments would be made over the course of the plan year instead of all at once to the pharmacy.
The Sanofi team created some resources that outline the changes and impact on patients. Linked are four guides:
- Highlighting Medicare Benefit Changes details the Medicare Part D redesign and Medicare Extra Help.
- Medicare Part D Benefit Changes: What You Need to Know is an abbreviated version of the previous guide.
- Understanding the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan includes FAQs and walks through the enrollment process.
- Información sobre el Plan de Pago para Recetas Médicas de Medicare is the Spanish translation of the previous guide and is included as an attachment.
