A new drug has been developed for the treatment of multiple sclerosis’ relapses. A dose of Glatiramer Acetate (40mg administered 3 times a week) is able to limit the reappearance of MS’ symptoms. A study,published in Annals of Neurology, showed the effects of the therapy.The analysis involved more than 1,400 patients, including 943 treated with injections of Glatiramer Acetate and 461 with placebo injections. In the group treated with the new remedy, there was a 34.4% reduction of relapses.
