A new groundbreaking treatment for multiple sclerosis is helping slow down the disease

“I just want to feel better about everything,” Lisa Krzywosinski said.
Krzywosinski has multiple sclerosis. She has had it most of her life, but the past eight years have taken their toll.
“I’m used to walking and getting things done and I have to go really slow,” she said.
Her disease continues to get worse. Doctors have been looking at many different treatment options, looking for something that may hopefully slow down the disease.

“Lisa has been down a very tough road. And we’ve tried to be aggressive at times, but her MRIs continue to progress and her disease continues to progress,” said Rany Aburashed, neurologist.
There is a new treatment option available. It’s called Lemtrada, and Krzywosinski is the first in Michigan to receive the treatment. She will receive her doses at Memorial Healthcare in Owosso.

“I’ve been waiting for it and I’m surprised I’m the first in Michigan and I’ve been through so much and I just really need something to work for me,” she said.
