Whether you simply need to stay in financial shape, or you’re struggling financially as a result of MS, the National MS Society wants to help. This section provides information and resources to people with MS about staying financially secure by knowing how to take best advantage of your health coverage options and needs, by staying insured when circumstances change, and by planning for your future needs.

Health Insurance and Medicare

This section provides information and resources to help people with MS overcome common obstacles to getting and keeping health coverage; understand their rights and responsibilities as health plan enrollees; file appeals and maximize benefits; navigate Medicare and Medicare drug plans.

Disability Insurance

Disability insurance replaces some of your income if you can no longer work and earn an income due to a disability. Approximately 40% of all people with multiple sclerosis in the United States rely on some form of disability insurance for their income.

Life and Long-Term Care Insurance

As a general rule, securing various types of insurance when you are young and healthy is the best advice. However, people with MS are still wise to look into insurance, even after their diagnosis.

Financial Resources

There are a variety of resources available to help address the financial impact of living with MS and help you plan for a future with MS.
